Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy on Sunday strongly condemned what he described as Iran's continued attacks against several Arab countries and commercial shipping, saying such actions threaten regional stability and violate international law.

In a statement, Fahmy rejected what he called repeated Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Jordan, as well as incidents affecting commercial vessels and international maritime navigation. He said the actions violate the U.N. Charter, international law and U.N. Security Council Resolution 2817, while undermining the principles of good neighborly relations.

Fahmy stressed that the security of Arab states is "indivisible" and said any violation of an Arab country's sovereignty requires a unified Arab response.

He reaffirmed the Arab League's solidarity with the affected states and urged the U.N. Security Council to take effective measures to halt the violations, uphold international law and safeguard freedom of navigation.
