The Military Technical College (MTC), ana Cairo University inked a cooperation protocol, within the framework of the general command of the Egyptian armed forces’ keenness to exchange scientific and practical experiences as well as supporting the armed forces’ research activities.
The signing ceremony was attended by MTC director, a number of faculty members, Cairo University president, in addition to deans of Engineering and Science faculties.
The protocol includes cooperation in the fields of joint research, exchange of expertise and qualification of human cadres via various educational and training programs, as well as supporting of intellectual property policy, participation in practical conferences, workshops and scientific research seminars.
Noteworthy, the joint research team composed of the MTC and members of engineering faculty at Cairo and Port Said universities in cooperation with the Middle East Oil Refining (MIDOR) has succeeded in producing an innovative mixture that works to raise the octane number of Egyptian gasoline from 80 to 92, using low cost additives.
This mixture has shown good results in terms of environmental emissions, combustion efficiency, engine erosion rates, commencement of actions’ scheme including the implementation of semi-industrial performance tests and feasibility study if this research idea would be put into practice in the local market.
