Morocco authorities announced on Saturday that it will extend the state emergency in Casablanca for four more weeks.
According to the government's official statement, this decision came as a result of the observations documented by the concerned committees of the COVID-19 crisis.
In addition, the nighttime curfew will be extended between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Last October, a number of extra medical measures were taken by the Moroccan government to control the non-stoppable spread of COVID-19 in the port city.
According to a previous official statement by the government issued last October, "Residents must obtain authorization from authorities in order to enter and exit the city during the restrictions. Closing times will also be adjusted for several establishments, with local markets having to close by 15:00, cafes by 20:00, and restaurants by 21:00."
