Morocco Suspends all Football Activities Due to Coronavirus

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) suspended on Saturday all football activities in the country until further notice.

"The Royal Moroccan Football Federation announced that it decided to suspend all football matches from today until further notice," the FRMF said in a statement.

Morocco becomes the second country in Africa to temporarily suspend activities after DR Congo halted all the competitions for 30 days starting Monday.

The decision came after Morocco's interior ministry decided to ban all crowded events in the country.

On Friday, the Confederation of the African Football (CAF) decided to postpone round three and four of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

In a statement, the CAF said that it decided to postpone the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers, FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup Qualifiers, and Women’s AFCON 2020 Qualifiers until further notice.

General Sports Authority in Saudi Arabia suspended, earlier on Saturday all domestic sporting activity at all levels until further notice due to coronavirus outbreak (COVID_19).

The virus caused complete paralysis in all sports activities worldwide, as many countries around the world suspended all the sporting activities due to concerns over the spread of the virus.

On Friday, March 13, the United Kingdom suspended all football events in England, including the Premier League games, EFL fixtures and matches in the FA Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship.
