On Thursday, Morocco officially restored more than 25.000 stolen artifacts from France as a part of the Ministry of Culture’s plan to protect Morocco’s heritage, in an official celebration.

The celebration took place at the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations in Marseille.

Representatives of the French and Moroccan ministries of culture and foreign affairs, along with French customs officials, attended the ceremony.

The artifacts were illegally taken from the country and seized by the French customs authorities between 2006 and 2007.

The items include 24,459 fossils, archaeological objects, trilobites, teeth, animal skulls, jaws, arrowheads, carved tools, and rock engravings.
