Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapicic to Return for "Deadpool 3"

Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic are set to reprise their roles as Vanessa and Colossus in the highly- anticipated "Deadpool 3".

Rayn Reynolds recently announced Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams would also return as Dopinder and Blind Al, who like Vanessa and Colossus appeared in the first two films.

They join Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and the newest cast members Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen.

Production is slated to begin rolling in London this Spring. The majority of filming will take place across the pond, unlike the first two movies which were filmed in Vancouver.

Shawn Levy is on board to direct with Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese returning to pen the threequel. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin penned a previous draft. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige will join Rayn Reynolds and Levy as producers.

Reynolds and Levy previously collaborated on the hit comedy movie "Free Guy" and Netflix's "The Adam Project".

"Deadpool 3" has been in development for years now but was further delayed by the 2019 Disney/Fox merger.

The franchise is the top-grossing X-Men movies of all time, with the 2016’s Deadpool and the 2018’s follow-up “Deadpool 2” were huge box office, earning over $1.5 billion worldwide.

The threequel was officially confirmed in December 2019. It marks the first Marvel Studios project to use characters now available to it after Disney purchased 21st Century Fox, which gave Marvel access to mutants, including “Deadpool”, “The X-Men”, and “The Fantastic Four”.

After the acquisition, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige was quick to confirm the franchise as a keeper for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

“Deadpool 3” will be the first R-rated movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The project also marks the first Deadpool movie in which Marvel will work hand in hand with Reynolds and Team Deadpool. Feige’s involvement comes after he helped revamp the Spider-Man franchise when he came on to help in the creative effort for that Sony series.

"Deadpool 3" hits theatres on September 6, 2024.
