The official trailer for Season 2 of Apple TV’s “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” has been revealed.
The footage was unveiled at the Apple TV Press Day on Tuesday, giving viewers a look at what’s to come in the second season of the Legendary Monsterverse series.
The 10-episode second season will premiere globally on February 27, with the first episode, followed by one episode every Friday until May 1.
Hailing from Legendary Television, Season 2 of “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” will return with the “fate of Monarch — and the world — hanging in the balance.
The official logline for Season 2 states that it picks up “with the fate of Monarch — and the world — hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains) on Kong’s Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The ripple effects of the past make waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend and foe — all with the threat of a titan event on the horizon.”
The newly-added Titan X will be at the center of the mystery.
It was previously revealed that Kurt Russell will return for Season 2 in the role of Lee Shaw, while his son Wyatt Russell will once again play the younger version of the character.
The returning cast also includes Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm.
Chris Black serves as executive producer and showrunner on Season 2. Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell executive produce via Safehouse Pictures along with Jen Roskind, Matt Shakman, Andrew Colville and Lawrence Trillling, who also directs four episodes, as well as Andrew Colville, who writes two episodes and serves as executive producer.
Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita executive produce on behalf of Toho Co., Ltd., the owner of the Godzilla character.
