Egyptian actress Mona Zaki's upcoming TV series for Ramadan 2023 drama marathon has received a new title.
The project was set to be filmed under the title, “ Taht El Wasaya”.
It is inspired by Sisa, a Sa'idi woman who dressed as a man for decades and hard-working jobs in order to raise her daughter.
Director Mohamed Shaker Khodeir is helming the project from a script by screenwriters Khaled and Sherine Diab.
Zaki participated last in the drama marathon with the TV series “Lebat Newton”, which achieved great success during its premiere.
It also starred Mohamed Farag, Mohamed Mamdouh, Sayed Ragab, Aicha Ben Ahmed, Mohamed El-Tajy, Mayan El-Sayed, Hanan Youssef, and others.
“Lebat Newton” was written and directed by Tamer Mohsen and followed a couple seeking to have their upcoming baby born in the USA to be granted citizenship, a decision with threatening consequences on their marriage.
On the other hand, Zaki is returning to the stage with the play "El Wesh El Tani", after 20 years of absence.
The play, directed by Ashraf Zaki, will be staged from November 11 to 15 as a part of the Riyadh season.
It also stars Ahmed Rizk, Hamdi El-Mirghani, Mohamed Tharwat, Rahma Ahmed, Mustafa Gharib, and Taher Abu Laila.
Zaki made her last theatrical performance in the 2003 play "Kedah Okay".
