Egyptian actress Mona Zaki's long-awaited TV series "Talaa Nazil" has a production start window.
The series' journey to the audience dates back to 2023.
Zaki has been attached to star in the drama, but soon the project was put on hold due to her busy shooting multiple films, which are slated for release in the coming period.
Principle photography is set to commence in November, after signing with the cast.
Hani Khalifa directs the series from a script by Asmaa Abdel Khalek and Angie Waddah Qassim.
"Talaa Nazil" consists of 10 episodes and is set to premiere during the off-season.
Zaki made her last onscreen appearance on the small screen in the 2023 TV series “Taht El Wasaya”.
Zaki, born on November 18, 1976, started her acting career at the age of 16 when Egyptian actor-director Mohamed Sobhi was on a search for new faces.
She applied in hopes of meeting Sobhi, who gave her first acting gig in his play “Bel Araby El Faseeh” in 1991.
She later starred in several popular TV series such as" Layaly Al-Helmiya S5", “El A’elah”, “Khalti Safiya wel Deir”, “Nisf Rabi’ El Akhar”, “Ahalina”, “Ded El Tayyar”, and “El Daw’ El Sharid”.
Zaki also starred in the hit plays “Le’b Eyal”, “Ya Messafer Wahdak”, “Afrouto”, and “Keda OK”.
She is also known for her roles in the films "Saeidi Fil Gameaa Al Amerikeya", "Alqatl Alladhidh", "Adhak Alsuwrat Tatalie Hulwa", "Leh Khalletny Ahebak", "Alhabu Al'awal", "Africano", "Mafia", "Min nazrat Ein", and "Sahar Al-Laiali".
Her credits also include "Khaltiy Faransa", "Dam Al-Ghazal"," Ahlam Omrena", "Abu Ali", "Ean aleashq walhuaa", "Taymour wa Shafika", "Welad el 'Am", "Ehky Ya Shahrzad", "Aswar El Amar," "Min Talatin Sana", and "El Ankaboot".
In 2001, she was honored by Gihan El Sadat, the wife of former president Anwar El Sadat, for portraying her in the masterpiece film “Ayam El Sadat” (Days of El Sadat).
Zaki was awarded the Faten Hamama Prize for Excellence at the 42nd Cairo International Film Festival in 2020.
