Mohamed Shahin Boards TV Series "Al Amir"

Egyptian actor Mohamed Shahin has boarded the cast of actor Ahmed Ezz's upcoming TV series "Al Amir" ("The Prince").

Directed by Jamaican-British director and producer Stephen Hopkins, the drama is a six-episode action series positioned as an action-driven political thriller with additional focus on personal and family dimensions.

"Al Amir" will be shot in Cairo with the production structured around a global-scale execution and in Saudi Arabia at the Al Hisn Big Time studios in Riyadh.

The project is being developed with an international team, with Ezz currently undergoing script rehearsals and intensive action training ahead of shooting.

It is co-produced by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and Sela Studios, with a focus on delivering complex action sequences.

"Al Amir" reunites Ezz with Amina Khalil after working together on the 2017 film "El Khaliyya".

Sammy Sheik, Tuba Büyüküstün, Meryem Uzerli, Pedro Alonso, and Paul Anderson round out the cast.

Created by Turki Al Shaikh and written by Salah El Gehiny, the story follows an Egyptian officer operating undercover within a network of international conflicts, assuming the identity of a high-profile wanted figure while attempting to prevent an imminent attack.

"Al Amir" marks Ezz's streaming debut and is set for release in 2027.

Shahin made his last onscreen in the 2025 star-studded TV series "Lam El Samasya".

Born on February 13, 1980, Shahin graduated from the faculty of commerce at Cairo University, where he began his career in theatre and later on joined Khaled Galal's creative acting workshop.

He made his film debut in the 2005 rom-com “Harem Karim” and landed his breakthrough role in the hit sitcom “Tamer we Shawkeya”, which ran for four seasons from 2006-2009.

Shahin formed a duo with Ahmed Mekky and collaborated with him in the hit comedy series “El Kebir Awy”. 

They also teamed up on the films “La Taragoa' wa La Esteslam” and “Sima Ali Baba”.

His film credits also include "Wesh X Wesh" and "Ya Tahadi Ya Taadi".

On the TV side, Shahin starred in TV productions such as "El Harsha El Sabaa", "Lahzet Ghadab", "Suits bil Arabi", "Lahm Ghazal", "Mawdou Aeli", "Ladina Aqwal Okhra", "Malika", "Al-zaybaq", "Elsabaa Wasaya", "Embratoreyet Meen", "Niran Sadeeka", and "Sharbat Loaz".
