Egyptian actor Mohamed Sallam delving into the core of the craft — starring and directing a TV commercial based on his idea.
Sallam ventured into directing for the first time with an advertisement for a soft drink company, which aired at the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement on Instagram, he expressed his immense happiness with the experience, emphasizing that the idea began as a simple concept and gradually evolved until it came to fruition thanks to the efforts of a dedicated team who believed in his artistic vision.
Sallam thanked everyone who supported him in his venture, hoping the work would be well-received by the audience.

Last year, Sallam crossed another milestone in his career, starring in his first leading role in a drama with the dark comedy TV series “Karsa Tabeaa” (Natural Disaster).
The cast also stars Gehad Hossam El Din, Kamal Abu Raya, Hamza El Eily, and more.
Written by "Al Balto" scribe Ahmed Atif and directed by Hussam Hamed, “Karsa Tabeaa” follows Mohamed Shaaban (Played by Sallam), who marries and, despite not planning to have children, discovers that his wife (Hossam El Din) is pregnant with five children.
“Karsa Tabeaa” also witnessed Sallam's last appearance on the small screen after two years of absence. He made his onscreen appearance in season 8 of Egyptian actor Ahmed Mekky's comedy hit TV series “Al-Kabir Awy” in 2024.
Season 8 of “Al-Kabir Awy” featured the return of cast members such as Mekky, Rahma Ahmed, Bayoumi Fouad, Hisham Ismail, Mohamed Salam, Samaa Ibrahem, Hussein Hagag, and Hatem Salah.
It also featured several A-listers making a cameo, including Amina Khalil.
Ahmed El-Gendy directed the series from a script by Mustafa Saqr and Mohamed Ezzeldin. The series was produced by the Synergy production company and debuted during the Ramadan 2024 drama marathon.
“Al-Kabir Awy” made its debut in 2010. It revolves around the Mayor of the Mazarita village, in Upper Egypt, who discovers he has other siblings.
The series achieved great success and became one of the best comedy series screened annually during Ramadan. It was renewed in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2022, and 2023.
