Egyptian actor Mohamed Ragab is gearing up to make a comeback to the big screen after six years of absence.
The film is set to be shot under the title "Cocktail" and sees Ragab teaming up with the creative team behind the 2018 film “Bikya” scriptwriter Mohamed Samir Mabrouk and producer Ahmed El Sobky.
Principal photography is set to begin soon.
“Bikya” marked Ragab's last onscreen appearance and featured a starry cast that included Ayten Amer, Mohamed Lotfy, Ahmad Seyam, Shaimaa Saif, Badria Tolba, late Ahmed Halawa, Bosy, Mahmoud El Leithy, Mirna Gamil, Magdy Badr, and more.
Directed by Mohamed Hamdy, “Bikya” follows Mustafa, an Egyptian researcher, who attempts to find cures for AIDS and cancer. Things take an unexpected turn when an international organization kidnaps him.
On the other hand, Ragab is planning to participate in the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon with the TV series "Al Hangaly".
The cast also stars Ayten Amer, Dana Halabi, Mahmoud Kabil, Abeer Sabry, Mohamed Lotfy, and more.
The series hails from director Moataz Hossam and "Haq Arab" scribe Mahmoud Hamdan. It marks the second collaboration between the duo after working on the 2022 TV series "Meshwar El Wensh".
Ragab, born on May 27, 1975, made his acting career in children’s programs. He also worked as an assistant director and studied at the Cinema Institute.
He worked on 1995's “al-Zainy Barakat” as well as worked as an assistant director for 2001's Tareq al-‘Eryan "El Silim we Al Thu'ban" (Snakes and Ladders).
Ragab is known for TV productions such as "El Akh El Kabir", "Darbat Muealam", and "Wesh Tany".
He is best known for his roles in films "Bekia" (2018), "Salem Abu Okhto" (2014), "Al Hafla" (2013), "Muhtaram Iila Rubue" (2010), "Almish Muhandis Hassan" (2008), "Klashinkof" (2008), "Tomn Dastet Ashrar" (2006), Ent Omry" (2005), "Hamada Yelab" (2005), and "Mallaki Iskandariya" (2005).
Ragab also starred as a villain in films "ُEl basha Telmeez" (2004), "Kan youm Hobak" (2004), "Izzay tekhalli el-banat Tehibbak" (2003), and "Mozakerat Moraheqah" (2001).
