Gihan Zaki, Egypt’s Minister of Culture, has issued a decision appointing Mohamed Nasr El-Din El-Gebaly as the new director of the National Center for Translation, succeeding Rasha Saleh.
El-Gebaly brings extensive academic and professional experience in translation and Russian studies.
He previously served as Egypt’s cultural advisor in Russia, where he contributed to strengthening cultural ties with literary and scientific institutions.
He has a strong academic portfolio, with more than 35 publications spanning research works and translations in literature and intellectual fields.
Throughout his career, El-Gebaly has held several key academic positions, including dean of the Faculty of Languages in Luxor, head of the Russian Language and Literature Department at Ain Shams University, and chair of the Translation Committee at the Supreme Council of Culture.
