Veteran Egyptian actor Mohamed Henedy's upcoming TV series for the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon has received a title.
The drama is a comedy consisting of 15 episodes and is set to be filmed under the title, "Amm Kandil".
It witness Henedy's onscreen comeback to the drama marathon after 6 years of absence.
He made his last participation with the 2018 comedy TV adaptation of "Ard El Nefak" (Land of Hypocrisy).
It is based on a novel by Youssef El Sebai of the same title, "Ard El Nefak" revolves around Masoud, a man fed up with his dead-end life who starts taking pills that play on his morals and gives him a different personality every day.
It featured a star-studded cast that included Hana Shiha, Mohamed Tharwat, Salwa Mohamed Ali, Samy Maghawry, and more.
The series also featured the late veteran actress Dalal Abdel Aziz.
"Ard El Nefak" is directed by Sameh Abdel Aziz and Mohamed El Adl from a screenplay adapted by Ahmed Abdallah.
Henedy participated last Ramadan with the comedy radio series ”Aboya Shqiqi”, featuring Shery Adel.
”Aboya Shqiqi” aired on the Nile Radio Network during the holy month of Ramadan and marks the second collaboration between the duo after the 2009 film "Amir El Behar".
Henedy, born in February 1965 in the district of Giza, earned his bachelor’s degree from the Cinema Institute in 1991.
He began his career acting in the play “Doctor Za’attar” and in the television series “A’la Asl Dawar,” “Al A’rdahalgy”, and “Al Bakheel wa Ana”.
Henedy is one of the most prominent stars in Egypt and the Middle East in the last 20 years, during which he starred in many popular films including, “Ismailia Rayeh Gay”, “Sa’eedi in the American University”, “Hamam fi Amsterdam”, “Gana El Bian El Taly”, “Askar fi el-muaskar”, “Fool el Seen el Azeem”, “Wesh Egram”, and “Ramadan Mabrouk Abul-Alamein Hamouda”.
