Mohamed Emam Prepares for New TV Series

Egyptian actor, Mohamed Emam, 35 is teaming with scriptwriter Baher Dowidar for his new TV series, which he plans to participate in Ramadan 2021 drama marathon with.

Emam is holding several secret work sessions with the producer of the series and Dowidar to hash out many details including the plot, cast, and filming date.

Mohamed Emam's upcoming project 

In 2019, the actor announced on October 10 that he was set to play Egyptian army legend Ibrahim Al-Rifai in a new film.

Brigadier General Ibrahim al-Rifai was the Commander of the 39th Special Operations Force in the October 1973 war.

He carried out 72 suicide operations behind enemy lines between 1967 and 1973 before dying as a martyr in the October war.

Emam’s latest artistic work is film “Lis Bagdad” (The Thief of Baghdad).

Lis Bagdad co-starring Mohamed Emam, Yasmin Raeis, Salah Abdallah, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Amina Khalil, Mohamed Abdel-Rahman, Ahmed Rizk, and others.

The film is written by Tamer Ibrahim, and directed by Ahmed Khaled Mousa.

Emam had also made a guest appearance in Egyptian actor’s Amir Karara TV series “El Ekhteyar” (The Choice) was one of the most-watched soap opera this year, which premiered in Ramadan.

It was watched almost in every home in Egypt and the Middle East; now it is making a comeback to our television.

Synergy, the production company of the TV series, announced through its official “Facebook” account that there is a preparation for a second part of the series.

There is a lot of unknown information, however, it is slated for the series to premiere in Ramadan 2021. It is speculated that it will be screened on the ON E TV channel, where the original series was premiered.

The first season co-starred Karara as martyr Colonel Ahmed el-Mansy in the series. El-Mansy was the commander of Sa’ka Forces (Thunderbolt Forces) battalion 103, who died as a martyr with several other members of his battalion on July 7th, 2017.

The series featured also many celebrities making guest appearances including Ahmed El Sakka, Diab, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Ahmed Salah Hosny, Maged El Masry, Eyad Nassar, Asser Yassin, Mohamed Ragab, and Karim Mahomud Abdel Aziz.

El Sakka was the last guest to appear on the series. He played the military prosecutor who is interrogating terrorist Hisham Ashmawy ‎(played by Ahmed Elawady).

It also stars‎ Sarah Adel, Dina Fouad, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Mahmoud Hafez, Diaa Abdulkhaliq, Abed Anani, Ehab Fahmy, Enaam Salosa, Afaf Rashad, Islam Jamal, Hazem Samir, Maha Nassar, Ashraf Meslehi, and others.

The TV series is written by Baher Dowidar, and directed by Peter Mimi.

The 42-year-old actor has received wide recognition for his outstanding performance from day one, following its premiere during the holy month of Ramadan.

It is worth mentioning that Emam, born on December 16, 1984, comes from an artistic family as his father is ‘El Zaeem’ actor Adel Emam, and the younger brother of director Rami Emam.

He went to Jesuit school before he entered the American University in Cairo. He studied theater and acted in many roles in the university including “Atawa in El Maghmati” play directed by Mahmoud El Lozy.

Emam first began his career in the arts as a child when he co-starred in his father Adel Emam film “Hanafi El Abha” (The Magnificent Hanafi) in 1990.

He played his first role out of the university when he took part in the Egyptian series “Kanaria and Shorkah”.

In 2006, Egyptian director Marwan Hammed choose him to play the role of Taha in film “The Yacoubian Building”, based on the novel of the same name.

Film “Hassan and Marcus” was his next major work, co-starred Adel Emam, Omar Sharif, Lebleba, and Hanna El Shorbagy, and others.

It revolved around the tension between Muslims and Christians.

Emam’s first film as the main protagonist was “Al Beeh Romansy” (The Romantic Bey) in 2009.

He is known for his televised roles in “Hogan”, “Lam’yy El Ott”,”Saheb El Saa’da”,”Firqat Naji Atallah”,”Khatout Hamra’”, “Bilshama’a El Ahmar”, “Firqet Naggy A’t Allah”, and “Khatut Hamra”.

Emam is also known for his roles in films “Lis Bagdad”, “Lelyt Hana w Sorour”, “Gahim Fe El Hend”, “Captain Masr”,”Al-Bayh Romancy”, “Hasan wa Marqas”, and “Emaret Yacoubian”.
