The seventh installment in the “Mission Impossible” franchise will make its streaming debut exclusively on Prime Video on Tuesday, October 10.

The action extravaganza sees Tom Cruise return as IMF agent Ethan Hunt and will be the longest entry in the franchise.

The runtime for the movie clocks in at two hours and 36 minutes without credits. In contrast, 2018's "Mission Impossible: Fallout", the longest movie in the franchise by far had a runtime of two hours and 27 minutes.

The entry is the first slice of a double-bill story that delves into the mysterious past of the spy and concludes with "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two".

“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Part One” follows Hunt tracking down a dangerous new weapon called “The Entity,” a self-aware artificial intelligence before the wrong people get their hands on it and exploit the world.

However, this weapon is so menacing and threatening that Hunt has to complete the mission at all costs — even if it endangers the lives of his team. And although it ends with a cliffhanger, i.e. “Part One,” Cruise told the director that the film’s “got to be satisfying” for the audience.

The seventh installment was initially slated for a 2021 release but suffered multiple delays due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, writer and director Christopher McQuarrie began to film the eighth entry long before the seventh movie hit theaters.

The journey to bring "Dead Reckoning – Part One" to theaters was long and tedious, which thankfully has come to an end.

McQuarrie returned to direct and wrote the script alongside Erik Jendresen. It is based on the TV series created by Bruce Geller.

"Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One" features Cruise surrounded by faces both old and new, including Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, and Frederick Schmidt.

It also features Pom Klementieff, Mariela Garriga, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, Frederick Schmidt, Rob Delaney, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, and Mark Gatiss.

Newcomers to the franchise include Hayley Atwell as Grace and Esai Morales as the new chapter’s bad guy. More faces will be boarding the franchise for Dead Reckoning Part Two, including Nick Offerman and Hannah Waddingham.
