The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, is participating in the 31st edition of the Arab Travel Market (ATM) in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The event started on May 5th and will continue till May 9th.
Several officials and dignitaries attended the event, including Ambassador Sherif Issa, Ambassador of Egypt to the UAE, Professor Ghada Shalaby, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs, Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, Amr El-Qadi, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, Ambassador Hossam Hussein, Egypt's Consul General in Dubai, Ambassador Ashraf Hamdy, Egyptian Commercial Consul in Dubai, and Mohamed Salama, Head of the Central Administration.
Professor Ghada Shalaby said that Egypt's participation in the exhibition is part of the Ministry's efforts to encourage more tourist traffic from the Arab market, especially from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including the UAE. It is also an opportunity to hold official and professional meetings to enhance joint cooperation and boost the rates of intra-Arab tourism between the two countries.
The Egyptian pavilion is showcasing many events to introduce the recent developments in the tourism industry in Egypt. The pavilion is also featuring a new Egyptian tourism presentation methodology through displays and interactive screens, along with the presence of a harp musician.
El-Qadi said that the Dubai Travel Market is the largest and most important tourism event in the Arab region and Africa. This year's theme is "Empowering Innovation- Developing the Travel Sector through Entrepreneurship." During the exhibition's activities, it will highlight innovative sustainable travel trends and enhancing growth strategies within specific key sectors.
The authority is organizing a daily competition in the Egyptian pavilion for professionals and media professionals during the exhibition days. The winners of these competitions will have the opportunity to visit the Egyptian tourist destination with the support of Air Cairo, hotels, and Egyptian tourism companies.
