The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Central Administration of Tourism Companies, announced the launch of the first repatriation flights for Egyptian tourist pilgrims from Makkah today. The initial phase begins with 8 flights carrying 476 pilgrims, marking the start of the return operations after completing this year's Hajj rituals.

These flights are scheduled to continue until mid-June, following a timeline coordinated across both King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.

Ms. Samia Sami, Assistant Minister for Tourism Companies Affairs, Head of the Egyptian Tourist Hajj Affairs Office, and Chairperson of the Supreme Committee for Umrah and Hajj, confirmed that the mission has deployed field committees at both departure airports in Saudi Arabia. These teams are stationed to assist and bid farewell to the tourist pilgrims returning by air, who total approximately 35,000 out of the overall tourist Hajj delegation.

She added that these committees are tasked with accompanying the pilgrims, monitoring their travel procedures, and resolving any obstacles they might face until they arrive home. This continuous support aims to facilitate a smooth return journey, ensuring the highest level of comfort and peace of mind for the pilgrims.

Furthermore, Ms. Sami noted that similar committees are currently managing the reception of pilgrims upon arrival at Cairo International Airport and other domestic arrival hubs. This ensures seamless clearance procedures through round-the-clock coordination among all sub-committees of the Hajj mission.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities maintains ongoing coordination with all relevant authorities to monitor the return movement of tourist pilgrims step-by-step until the final group arrives, operating within an integrated system dedicated to serving the pilgrims from their departure until their safe return to their homeland.
