Virtual Visit to Tahrir Museum Launched to Egyptians in New Zealand

Within the framework of the "Speak Egyptian" initiative introduced to the fourth and fifth generations of the Egyptians in New Zealand, 55 children were invited to a virtual visit to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir.

The Ministry of State for Emigration and Egyptians Affairs Abroad organized forums and camps for the children of Egyptians abroad of different generations, in light of the "Speak Egyptian" initiative recently launched by the ministry to consolidate the Egyptian national identity among our children abroad.

The Ministry of Emigration in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, organized a virtual visit to the Egyptian Museum for a delegation of Egyptian children of the fourth and fifth generations in New Zealand.

Ages of those children range from 8 to 12 years old. The visit was organized via the Internet, within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Emigration and "Wellspring" company, to deepen identity and belonging and instill patriotism in these young people.

On her part, Nabila Makram, Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad thanked Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, for his standing cooperation with her ministry within the framework of the initiatives and activities launched by it.

The initiatives include camps for the children of Egyptians of the fourth and fifth generations abroad, organizing visits to heritage sites and Egyptian antiquities.

The minister noted the importance of carrying out these camps which reflect the history and greatness of their homeland, which directly contributes to linking them to Egypt.

She added that the Ministry of Emigration, in cooperation with Wellspring, organizes this camp via the Internet due to the circumstances of the spread of the Coronavirus, with the participation of 55 children of the fourth and fifth generation of Egyptians abroad residing in New Zealand; this reflects the great and positive impact of these camps on them in increasing their connection to their motherland, Egypt.

The minister also thanked the parents of these children for their great interest in their children joining this camp.

Makram also referred to the official launch, recently initiative announced by the ministry of the "Egyptian Speak" and its entry into force.

She stressed that this camp enables its participants to learn the Egyptian dialect and practice it, in a way that contributes to facilitating their interaction with their brothers in Egypt upon visit her. She pointed out that the international Egyptian star "Mina Masoud" - hero of the famous movie "Aladdin" - is the ambassador of the "Speak Egyptian" initiative.

Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, affirmed the ministry's readiness to open archaeological sites and museums to the children of Egyptians abroad from different generations within the initiative "Speak Egyptian" in order to raise their archaeological awareness and the spirit of belonging to their fatherland in addition to getting acquainted more deeply with the ancient civilization of their country, which works to consolidate the Egyptian and national identity of our children abroad.

On the other hand, Dina El-Sihy, Egypt's Ambassador to New Zealand, welcomed Minister of Emigration and praised her serious and great cooperation in organizing and launching this camp.

She also welcomed the staff of Wellspring Company, praising their efforts in making the camp successful through several activities that contribute to introducing them to Egypt's ancient culture.
