Tourism, Civil Aviation Ministers Inaugurate Egyptian Pavilion in London WTM2021

This afternoon, Dr. Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Tourism &Antiquities, and Pilot Mohamed Manar, Minister of Civil Aviation, inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion in the London World Travel World ( WTM2021), which started today 's morning and will continue from 1 to 3 November in the British capital, London .

The opening was attended by Maj. Gen. Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, Amr El-Qadi, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation, Ahmed Al-Wasif, President of the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers, Mohamed Mohsen, the Tourism Attaché at the Egyptian Tourist Office in London, and the Administrative and Financial Supervisor of the Tourist Offices in France and China .

During the opening, Dr. Khaled Al-Anani pointed out the importance of participating in London's exhibition, as it is one of the most important international tourism exhibitions and one of the most important professional gatherings of the profession’s partners in the tourism industry.

He stressed that event has significant importance because tourism decision-makers around the world, major tour operators and travel and tourism agents from different countries of the world participate.

London's exhibition witnesses presence of many interested visitors and specialists in the field of tourism and travel, in addition to the large public and media reporters during the period of the exhibition.

The Egyptian pavilion, which was built in the form of a pharaonic temple, witnessed a large turnout of visitors during the first day, whether to hold professional meetings with representatives of Egyptian tourism companies, or to view the pavilion and enjoy the interactive activities in it.

Dr. Khaled El-Anani was also keen to take a tour inside the Egyptian pavilion, where he met the Egyptian exhibitors to welcome them, and thanked them for their efforts to increase the number of incoming tourism to Egypt.

During this visit, Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, is scheduled to hold a number of official meetings with some government officials in Britain, and a series of professional meetings with a number of officials of airlines, tour operators and British and representatives of the international tourism companies, in addition to a number of important media meetings.

Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, participates annually in this exhibition.

The area of the Egyptian pavilion is 406 square meters this year.

Some 77 countries around the world take part in this year exhibition which is visited by about 50,000 senior professionals in the travel industry and government ministers.

Also, the exhibition saw high turnout of representatives of major tour operators, international airlines, international tourism associations and international media.

The participation this year coincides with the recent decision of the United Kingdom (UK) in late September to remove the name of Egypt from the red list of countries prohibited from traveling to from the United Kingdom in light of the repercussions of the Coronavirus crisis.

It is worth noting that this tourism exhibition is the fourth one in which the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities has participated during the past three months.

He participated in the Arab Travel Market (ATM 2021) during the period from 16-19 last May in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The minister also participated during the period from 7- last September 9, at the International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (OTDYKH) 2021 in the Russian capital, Moscow, in which Egypt was participating as the partner country.

Del Al-Anani also participated in the International Tourism Exhibition (IFTM TOP RESA) in its fortieth edition, which was held during the period from 5 to 8

October in the French capital, Paris.

This comes within the framework of the foreign minister's tours to discuss boosting the tourist movement coming to Egypt from the various tourist markets.

During the foreign tours of the minister, he is keen to hold a number of important meetings at the official level with government officials in these countries.

He also held professional meetings with senior tour operators, airlines and international tourism companies, which would contribute to the discussion of ways to advance this movement.
