Dr. Khalid Al Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities met Gareth Bale, Ambassador of the United Kingdom (UK) to Egypt who succeeded the outgoing Ambassador Geoffrey Adams, at the British chancery in Zamalek District in the west of Cairo.
The meeting handled bolstering of cooperation between Egypt and the UK in fields of tourism and antiquities as well as encouraging the coming tourism to Egypt after removing Egypt from the Red List.
During the meeting, Dr. Khalid reviewed efforts done by Egypt now to adopt new tourist activities and methods such as tourism of adventures and merging of entertainment and seaside tourism along with cultural tourism through a number of elements such as tying cities of Nile Valley to the tourist coastal ones by launching internal airlines that tie Sharm El Sheikh to Luxor and Hurghada, Aswan, and Abu Simbel. This measure aims to increase advantage of the Egyptian competitive tourist product and to create a complete tourist product for the first time to join entertainment, Egyptian beaches and antiquities.
These advantages make tourists to enjoy a unique, distinguished, tourist experience during their visit to Egypt.
Furthermore, the minister and the ambassador discussed the possibility of inking of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Egypt and the UK to recover the stolen and trafficked Egyptian.
The minister informed the British Ambassador on preparations regarding celebrating the 100th anniversary of discovering the Tomb of King Tutankhamun.
