Antiquities Min. Meets Organizers of 12th Conference for Egyptologists

Minister of Antiquities Dr. Khaled Al-Anani met with the Scientific and Organizational Committees of the 12th session of the International Conference for Egyptologists, which will be hosted by Cairo from 3 to 8 November 2019. The conference aims to follow up with the final arrangements and preparations for the event.

Ahmed Obeid, General Supervisor of the Office of the Minister of Antiquities and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference clarified that the meeting discussed the latest developments of the organization of the conference in accordance with the schedule and program of lectures of participants, the summary book on the event, the opening ceremony, in addition to the arrangements for the exhibition of researches to be hosted by a major hotel in Cairo.

 

Professor Ola El Agizy, former Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology at Cairo University and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, that the number of participants who will be taking part in this conference reached 567, including 379 speakers and researchers, in addition to 188 listeners.

The conference will discuss researches with several main axes, represented in the history of ancient Egypt.

The history of Egyptology, the modern methods used in archaeological excavations, the management of archaeological sites, restoration, technology, archaeological museums, art and architecture, language and literature, religious beliefs and social life in ancient Egypt. This will also include discussion of challenges and problems facing Egyptian antiquities and how to overcome them.
