Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things, Enola Holmes) will star in and executive produce the new series "Prism," currently in development at Netflix.
Rachel Brosnahan and AGBO, in their third project with the streamer, will also executive produce. Etan Frankel (Shameless, Joe vs. Carole) has been tapped as showrunner.
Brown will play Cassie, a woman with the unique ability to communicate with apparitions, who must uncover the cause of a newly discovered phenomenon that causes “visitors” (ghosts) to appear all over the world before it’s too late.
"Prism" is based on the short story of the same name that was an Assemble Original featured in the magazine Assemble Artifacts, and was developed in-house with writer Nick Shafir, who will co-produce. Assemble Media is attached to produce.
Executive producers include Brown through her PCMA banner; Brosnahan and Russell Kahn via Scrap Paper Pictures; Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes and Alessandra Maman on behalf of AGBO; and Jack Heller and Caitlin de Lisser-Ellen of Assemble Media.
If the project goes to series, starring in "Prism" will not prevent Brown from keeping her commitments to previously announced projects. This is her second collaboration with AGBO, following her lead role in Netflix’s "The Electric State," the Russo brothers’ most recent film.
"Prism: expands Brown’s long and successful collaboration with Netflix that began with her starring role as Eleven in the smash hit "Stranger Things," due to conclude its run with a fifth season to be released in three parts in November and December.
Also hugely popular is Brown’s "Enola Holmes" franchise, with two films currently available to stream with a third expected to premiere in 2026.
Brosnahan’s breakout role was in Netflix’s "House of Cards". She also appeared in an episode of "Orange is the New Black" and starred in the streamer’s film "Saturn Return" alongside Charles Melton and Will Poulter.
She is best known for playing the lead in Prime Video’s Emmy-winning period dramedy "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel".
Brosnahan most recently played Lois Lane in James Gunn’s "Superman". Up next, she will star in and executive produce the sophomore season of Apple TV’s "Presumed Innocent".
AGBO is currently producing Marvel’s "Avengers: Doomsday" in London, to be followed up by "Avengers: Secret Wars" (2027), with the Russos directing.
The studio recently released "The Electric State" for Netflix, which premiered as the giant platform’s No. 1 film, and wrapped "The Bluff" for Amazon MGM and The Whisper Man for Netflix. "Citadel" Season 2 for Prime Video is currently in post-production.
AGBO also collaborated with Netflix on "The Gray Man" (2022) feature starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and, Ana de Armas.
