The “Stranger Things” alum Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi, the son of Jon Bon Jovi, secretly tied the knot in a wedding ceremony last weekend.
According to The Sun, Bongiovi's parents Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Bongiovi were in attendance along with Brown's parents. "It was a very low-key, romantic affair with their closest family with them as they said their vows."
The outlet also reported that the couple is planning a larger, ceremony later this year.
The Emmy nominee was first linked to Jon Bon Jovi’s son in the summer of 2021. At the time, Jon Bon Jovi's son snapped a selfie with the Enola Holmes star, captioning the photo, "bff <3".
In 2023, Brown referred to Bongiovi as her “partner for life” on social media.
“Here’s to another year with you. Let’s do it again but better,” she gushed in January.
Bongiovi, for his part, described her as “golden to the core” in a birthday tribute the following month.
“I love you more than words can describe,” he concluded, referring to Brown as “the girl of [his] dreams.”
Brown announced the pair's engagement on Instagram in April, sharing a black-and-white photo of Bongiovi hugging her from behind at the beach. Her engagement ring was also on full display in the shot.
Captioning the post with a Taylor Swift lyric from the song "Lover," she wrote: "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all 🤍".
That same day, Bongiovi shared a couple of photos of them with the caption: "Forever 🤍".
Several weeks later, Jon Bon Jovi gave his son his blessing on Radio Andy.
“I don't know if age matters,” the Bon Jovi frontman said. “If you find the right partner and you grow together ... my advice really is growing together is wise. I think that all of my kids have found people that they think they can grow together with and we like them all.”
"Millie is wonderful," the rock icon continued, adding that his son is "very, very happy."
Following the engagement, Brown shared several wedding planning updates. In August 2023, she told Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) that she was finding the process "so fun," adding: "It’s such an exciting time in my life."
She also shared her desire to keep the more intimate details of her nuptials private. “I think probably drawing the curtains, just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once, and to have everyone’s opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me.”
“So I feel it’s important to keep those things, those small precious moments in life, really close to your chest," she added.
Brown's Stranger Things costar Matthew Modine provided another update in March 2024 when he revealed in an interview with Access Online that he would be officiating the couple's wedding ceremony.
“I have one of those licenses to get people married and Millie thought it’d be great and then Jake said it would be a great idea, so I wrote the wedding vows and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife,” Modine, 65, explained.
“It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to join two people in holy matrimony,” he added.
