Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler are reuniting for a new original movie from Coogler and his production company Proximity Media, with Jordan starring and Coogler writing, directing and producing.

The movie marks Coogler’s first original spec script since 2013's "Fruitvale Station", which first teamed him with Jordan. They have since worked together on 2015’s"Creed" and 2018's "Black Panther".

Not much is known about the untitled project, other than it being described as a genre-style pic.

Coogler is producing through his Proximity Media along with Proximity’s Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. Rebecca Cho from Proximity will executive produce.

Coogler is one of the most sought-after filmmakers of his generation. He reinvented the Rocky franchise with "Creed", which has now spanned three movies, while his Marvel Studios debut Black Panther became a cultural touchstone, generating $1.2 billion globally and earning a Best Picture nomination, a rarity in the comic book genre.

Coogler most recently directed Marvel’s "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", another massive hit that grossed more than $800 million at the global box office.

As for Jordan, he is coming off a big year after making his directing debut on Creed III, in which he reprised his star-making role as Adonis Creed.
