Mexico’s president Andrés Manuel López Obrador showed, on Saturday, his rejection of congratulating the winner of US presidential election Joe Biden until legal challenges are concluded.

"With regard to the U.S. election, we are going to wait until all the legal matters have been resolved," Lopez Obrador said at a news conference.

"I can't congratulate one candidate or the other,” he added. “I want to wait until the electoral process is over."

Mexico is considered one of the major trading partners of the United States, with trade values $ 600 billion annually.

"Bolivia doesn't have a 3,000-km border with Mexico," an official said. "It's important to have a couple of months of peace and good neighborly relations."

Democrat Joe Biden won the election yesterday, on Saturday, after a victory in the state of Pennsylvania with 270 electoral college votes.
