Lionel Messi, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, issued a public apology, Friday, to his club, and teammates for having an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia earlier this week.

The World Cup winner had a two-day trip to the kingdom which was rejected by the team's coach and football management, therefore, they suspended the star for two weeks without pay, and a ban from training with the team.

In the video: Messi initiated the talk: "First of all, I want to apologize to my teammates and the club," adding: "Honestly, I thought we [the squad] were going to have a day off after the game like we did in previous weeks."

On his trip, the Argentian star expressed that this trip was planned before, and he couldn't cancel it as "[he] had canceled [once] already; [he] could not cancel it again,”

Messi added. "I repeat: I want to say sorry for what I did. I’m waiting to hear what the club want to do with me."

Recently, it was reported that Messi will depart the French club by the end of this season.
