The Muslim Council of Elders’ pavilion at the Istanbul International Arabic Book Fair hosted a seminar titled “Countering Islamophobia in Europe: An Analytical Perspective,” presented by Dr. Samir Boudinar, Director of the Hokama Center for Peace Research.
During the seminar, Boudinar discussed key themes from the book “Countering Islamophobia in Europe,” published by Al Hokama Publishing, stressing that Islamophobia is rooted in deliberate fearmongering and the systematic distortion of Islam’s image through orchestrated hate campaigns.
He underlined the need to confront the phenomenon through legal frameworks, rigorous media monitoring, and intellectual awareness programs. He also called for clear action plans by religious and cultural institutions to highlight Islam’s true values of dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
The seminar drew attention to the importance of coordinated efforts to challenge misconceptions about Islam and to foster mutual understanding across diverse communities.
