The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, expressed solidarity with Bangladesh following devastating floods triggered by heavy rainfall that left dozens of people dead and injured and caused extensive damage.
In a statement, the council extended its condolences to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Bangladesh, expressing sympathy over the tragedy.
The council reaffirmed its support for Bangladesh during the disaster and prayed for the swift recovery of those injured.
The statement also underscored the council's commitment to humanitarian solidarity with communities affected by natural disasters and expressed hope that Bangladesh would overcome the impact of the floods as recovery efforts continue.
