The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Muslim World League (MWL) agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and coordinate efforts to support Afghanistan during high-level talks in Pakistan's capital.
OIC Assistant Secretary-General Ambassador Dr. Tarig Ali Bakheet met MWL Secretary-General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa on the sidelines of meetings in Islamabad, where the two sides discussed launching joint programs to advance shared Islamic priorities and expand institutional cooperation.
The officials also reviewed the humanitarian and development situation in Afghanistan, stressing the need for coordinated Islamic and international efforts to support the Afghan people and sustain relief operations.
Bakheet praised the Muslim World League's role, under Al-Issa's leadership, in promoting moderation, balance and service to the Muslim world, reaffirming the OIC's commitment to closer cooperation on issues of common concern.
