Egyptian actress Asma Abulyazeid is no longer involved in actor Ahmed Hatem's star-studded film "Qasr El Basha".
Mayan El Sayed has been tapped to serve as Abulyazeid's replacement after she part ways with the film following scheduling issues.
The film also stars likes of Hussein Fahmy, Nabil Issa, Hamza El Eily, Nancy Salah, Ahmed Fahim, Mohammad Al Qass, Sedky Sakhr, and more.
It is scripted by Mohamed Nayer, directed by Muhammad Bakir, and produced by Hisham Abdel-Khaleq and Alaa Lashin.
Principal photography is currently underway.
Hatem was last seen in the TV adaptation of the 1972 film "Embratoreyet Meem" (Empire M).
The drama starred Khaled El-Nabawy, Hala Shiha, Nour El-Nabawy, Nashwa Moustafa, Mahmoud Hafez, Mohamed Mahmoud Abdulaziz, Rasha Mahdi, Eman Al Sayyed, Hagar ElSarrag, and more.
The series is scripted by Mohamed Suleiman Abdel Malek, directed by Mohamed Salama, and produced by Aroma Studios production company.
The reimagining depicts the difficulty widower Mukhtar faces raising six children alone, how challenging life gets when love knocked at his door.
"Embratoreyet Meem" follows a Mona (Faten Hamama), a widow raising her six kids besides her work. She gradually falls in love with businessman Ahmed (Ahmed Mazhar) but doesn't give in to her feelings easily being torn apart between her devotion to her children and her future with Ahmed.
The film featured a cast that included Faten Hamama, Ahmed Mazhar, Hesham Selim, Dawlat Abyad, Ali Gawhar, Saif Abo El Naga, Nagyat Kandel, and others.
Filmmaker Hussein Kamal directed the pic from a script by Ihsan Abd al-Qudus and Mustafa Samy.
The reimagining consists of 30 episodes and was screened during the Ramadan 2024 drama marathon.
