May Elghety Joins Disney's "Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire"

Egyptian actress May Elghety recently joined the cast of Disney’s upcoming animated sci-fi series, "Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire".

“Super excited and honored to be a part of this!! ‘Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire’ coming to you very soon,” she wrote on Instagram.

The sci-fi series also features the voices of Florence Kasumba, Kehinde Bankole, Pearl Thusi, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Sheila Munyiva, Stycie Waweru, Candice Modiselle, Lillian Dube, Clementine Mosimane, and Mandisa Nduna, as well as comedians Tumi Morake, Sne Dladla and Tyson Ngubeni and rappers Nasty C and Gigi Lamayne.

Moreover, Egyptian director Ahmed Teilab has boarded the series’ writing and directing team, which consists of a slew of African artists.

The Disney+ Original is a 10-part anthology that tells futuristic stories based on Africa’s rich cultural heritage. 

The creators picked an African perspective to imagine new worlds with advanced technology, aliens, spirits, and monsters, stories that touch on other worlds, and time travel to be seen through an African lens.

This animated anthology brings together a new generation of animation stars and creators from Egypt, Zimbabwe, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya, who will offer their ideas to take viewers across the globe on a wild voyage into Africa’s future.

Peter Ramsey, Oscar winner, Tendayi Nyeke, and Anthony Silverston serve as executive producers. Triggerfish is the lead studio, teaming with animation studios globally and across the continent.

 "Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire" is set to debut on Disney+ sometime later this year.
