The National Program for Preserving the Egyptian Family Entity, “Mawadda,” affiliated with Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity, has completed the third phase of its training initiative targeting youth in border regions across Aswan, North Sinai, the Red Sea, and Matrouh governorates. The program delivered 35 training sessions that benefited 771 young men and women.

Randa Faris, Advisor to the Minister of Social Solidarity for Family, Women, and Child Health and Development, and Director of the Mawadda Program, stated that the training sessions focused on issues relevant to residents of border communities. Topics included family culture, traditions and customs shaping family relationships, challenges facing young people during engagement and marriage, criteria for choosing a life partner, and the importance of the engagement period in building a successful marriage.

She added that the program also highlighted the concept of partnership in marriage, balanced child-rearing practices, and introduced participants to the Mawadda digital platform and the “Ask Mawadda” online counseling service, aimed at enhancing family awareness among young people.

The training sessions further addressed the importance of premarital medical examinations, the benefits of delaying the first child, and the advantages of family planning and birth spacing as key components of reproductive health and family well-being.

The Ministry of Social Solidarity emphasized that these activities are part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the Egyptian family and build a more cohesive society by equipping young people with the life skills and knowledge needed to establish healthy and stable families.

The trainings covered several border communities across North Sinai, Matrouh, the Red Sea Governorate, and Aswan, aiming to reach as many young people as possible and raise awareness of family and community development issues.
