As a part of the Arab Music Festival activities, Lebanese renowned artist, Marwan Khoury and the young talented Syrian singer Faia Younan gave a marvelous live concert at Fountain Theater located at the Cairo Opera House on Nov.8.
The stunning moving presentation by Khoury accompanied by The Music Ensemble under the renowned Maestro Moustafa Helmy illustrated the singing and drumming that is characteristic of the Sham region, while a number of riveting songs rendition such as ‘Fe Tarik Elik’,’ Wehyatk Ya Habiby’, and ‘Wahshni’ by Younan performer stirred the audience.
Younan, who took this occasion to confer words of praise upon Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem and express her gratitude to the head of Opera Dr. Magdy Saber as well as the officials of the ceremony for their excellent leadership in organizing this timely and significant music ceremony, performed first on stage, then came renowned Lebanon’s singer who started his performance with his famous song "Yarab".
Further, the Lebanese star featured songs from his other flourishing two-decade-long career like 'Kel El Qasayed', 'Khodne Ma'ak', Inta w Maii' and 'Fakart Insit'.
Also yesterday, the Theater of Damanhour Opera hosted a concert by the notable orchestra of the Abdel Halim Nuira Arabic Conservatory of Music.
At the end of the day, a choir of disabled children performed a selection of classical and contemporary Arabian songs under the Maestro Abdel Alwhab Elsaid, accompanied by a renowned music orchestra.
