Those expecting a second season of the Disney+ miniseries "Moon Knight", starring Oscar Isaac as the titular Marc Spector/Moon Knight and Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, shouldn’t hold their breath.

However, Marvel does have plans for the character to return at some point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future,” Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum told ComicBook. “And moving forward, our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television,” he said.

Winderbaum continued, “I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road.”

The character returned at the end of 2024 when Isaac reprised his role as Moon Knight for an episode of the Disney+ animated series "Marvel’s What If…?".

However, it is still unclear when Moon Knight will return again in live-action form, but with several MCU projects, like "Avengers: Secret Wars", in the works, anything could happen.

In October 2024, it was still a thought that Moon Knight could get a second season as The Cosmic Circus reported that Marvel Studios had “an idea” for Season 2 that they found “really exciting.”  At that time, information on the future of the series was vague.

"Moon Knight" debuted in March 2022 and ran for six episodes on Disney+. It followed the story of Isaac’s Marc Spector, a mercenary with disassociative identity disorder.

The six-episode miniseries focused on Marc as he investigated a deadly mystery involving Egyptian gods with his multiple alters, like Steven Grant.

The series also starred May Calamawy as Layla El-Faouly/Scarlet Scarab, F. Murray Abraham as Khonshu, and Ethan Hawke as the antagonist Arthur Harrow.

While it is unclear whether Moon Knight will be featured in an MCU movie anytime soon, word recently broke that the Phase 6 Avengers: Doomsday movie will begin filming in England in March, per The Wrap. Doomsday will see the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU as the villainous Doctor Victor von Doom. Doomsday will hit theaters on May 1, 2026.

The film is being directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, who are also directing "Avengers: Secret Wars". The pair previously directed "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018) and "Avengers: Endgame" (2019). Stephen McFeely is penning the screenplay for both "Doomsday" and "Secret Wars".

Disney+ is the streaming home for the MCU, including the previous Avengers films and Moon Knight.
