American pop-rock band Maroon 5 performed Tuesday evening their first-ever concert live at the Great Pyramids of Giza, Egypt.
The concert is a part of the band’s first-ever regional tour in the Middle East. More than 10 thousand people attended the event.
The band is from Los Angeles, California and currently consists of lead vocalist Adam Levine, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, keyboardist PJ Morton, and multi-instrumentalist and bassist Sam Farrar.
Levine took to Instagram stories to express his excitement before the performance, saying: "Not even in my wildest dreams did I think we would play a show here. We are honored and humbled... And extremely pumped. See you tomorrow,".
During their visit, the band was also keen to visit the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square.
