Lionsgate has released the official trailer for Mel Gibson‘s high-flying action thriller “Flight Risk,” starring Mark Wahlberg.
The Oscar-nominated actor has a partially bald head in the upcoming thriller movie, in which he plays a pilot transporting an Air Marshal (Michelle Dockery) accompanying a fugitive (Topher Grace) to trial. As they cross the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar and trust is tested, as not everyone on board is who they seem.
“Flight Risk” marks the third collaboration between Gibson and Wahlberg. The first was in the 2017 comedy “Daddy’s Home 2,” followed by “Father Stu” in 2022. This will be Wahlberg’s first time acting under Gibson as a director.
“Flight Risk” marks Gibson’s first outing behind the camera since the Academy Award-nominated war drama Hacksaw Ridge for the same studio.
Mark told People that he decided to shave his head every day instead of wearing a bald cap.
“There was no bald cap. I shaved the middle and left the horseshoe around the sides. We just shaved it,” he said. “They would shave the top as close to the scalp as possible every day, obviously because we didn’t have any stubble or anything. So I just hid it with a hat.”
“But the most priceless thing was seeing my wife’s face when I took my hat off after getting the hair cut for work that day,” he added.
A sneak peek of the “Flight Risk” trailer first debuted at the Cinemacon 2024 in Las Vegas.
Gibson helms the film with a script from Jared Rosenberg. John Davis, John Fox, Bruce Davey and Gibson serve as producers. Executive producers include Alex Lebovici, Jenny Hinkey, Ryan D. Smith, Natasha Stassen, Allen Cheney, Christopher Woodrow, K. Blaine Johnston, Christian Mercuri, Petr Jákl, Vicki Christianson, Nick Guerra, Russell Hollander, Jon Huddle, Patrick Josten, Walter Josten and Jordan Wagner.
“Flight Risk” hits theaters on October 18.
