Mariam Naoum to Make Acting Debut in TV Series "Dawaey El Safar"

Renowned Egyptian screenwriter Mariam Naoum will make her acting debut in singer-actor Amir Eiupcoming TV series "Dawaey El Safar". 

The series is slated to premiere on Wednesday, May 15 on the "Watch IT" streaming platform.

The cast also includes Nadine, Ahmed Ghozzi, Kamel El Basha, Ayman El Shewy, and more. The project is a Watch It original series written and directed by filmmaker Mohamed Nayer.

Born on May 8, 1977, Naoum comes from a family of accomplished artists: her father, Nabil, is a novelist with several published works and her mother, Suzanne El Masry is a well-known jeweler of unique hand-made silver and bronze designs.

She studied economics in France and then returned to Egypt to study screen writing, graduating from the High Cinema Institute from the Screenwriting department in 2000.

After graduating from the Institute, she worked for several years in different fields including short feature films, programs, documentaries, children's series and programs, as well as commercials for television.

Naoum is considered a leading social/ feminist screenwriter and her work addresses the challenges of those who are marginalized both socially and economically with a special focus on women's issues. Her passion for dramatic screen writing is out of her belief that it is  a mirror of society with the ability to express a powerful mixture of emotions in each moment.
