Makram Raises Awareness on Dangers of Illegal Immigration

In an attempt to limit illegal immigration, the ministry of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates has prioritized the need to educate mothers and children about the dangers of illegal migration.

In line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and its Sustainable Development Strategy, the ministry has also offered programs to help identify safe migration methods in accordance with a protocol signed between the Ministry of Immigration and that of the Planning and Administrative Reform.

On her part, Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Nabila Makram stressed that mothers are the cornerstone of the family; they can raise awareness about the dangers of illegal immigration and implant the values ​​of belonging to the children.

In the same context, Assistant Minister for Institutional Development Saber Soliman explained that the launch of the program aims at raising awareness of families concerning the risks of illegal migration and sustaining community and urban development in slums.

Dangers of illegal immigration

Moreover, an official of illegal immigration Wael Farrag said that the Ministry carried out awareness programs, which is based on studies, in the governorates of Qena, Luxor and Beni Suef.

"The ministry carried out awareness programs on the dangers of illegal immigration and the definition of safe migration for youth at the ages of 15-35 years," he added.

Meantime, 1,725 citizens, including mothers, and minors are being educated and introduced to legal migration possibilities and employment opportunities, particularly in mega national projects being implemented throughout the country.
