Immigration Min. Prepares to Receive Young Egyptians from Australia

CAIRO, Jan. 5 (SEE) - Officials at the ministry of Immigration is making final arrangements for receiving around 70 young Egyptians, from the second and third generations for Egyptians living in Australia, who are scheduled to arrive by the mid of current January.

This comes in line with the ministry’s policy of retaining strong communication with Egyptians living abroad.

Minister Nabila Makram stated that many visits were organized for those groups, over the past three years, which focused mainly on the national interest issues, as well as defending the nation.

She added that the program enriches the knowledge of young people about the history at ancient civilization of Egypt. It includes visits to the Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum, landmarks at Luxor, Aswan and other historical places. It also includes a visit to Al Azhar and the Cathedral Church. These last were included to allow a dialogue on tolerance and fraternity, so as to abandon any extremist thoughts.

Through video clips sent to the ministry, the young Egyptians expressed their great happiness to visit their homeland, and how they can’t wait to see its cultural heritage. They mentioned that they are ready to transfer their experience to their friends and inform them about the civilization of Egypt and its history and landmarks.

The Minister mentioned that further programs are expected to take place for those in France and Austria.
