The 17th edition of the Egyptian National Theatre Festival (ENTF) which was due to take place this week has been postponed.
It was originally scheduled to kick off on July 15-30 but move the date to July 30 to August 15. This edition is named after theatre icon Samiha Ayoub.
The renowned Egyptian actress will be celebrated during the opening ceremony with the screening of the film "Lady of the Arab Theatre" about the actress.
"Lady of the Arab Theatre" was produced by the festival and was directed by Ashraf Fayek to the screenplay penned by Nader Salah El-Din.
The ENTF is an important artistic event that features the Egyptian theater throughout the year.
It is open to performances produced by the state, private and corporate theatre, NGOs, amateur groups, university theaters, acting syndicates, companies, and various production bodies.
The festival aims to encourage creative theater actors to compete as well as develop performances to participate in creating works worthy of ancient Egyptian theater.
