Egyptian singer-actress, Mai Kassab will not return for season 2 of the TV series “El Atawla".
Season 1 of the series screened during the Ramadan 2024 drama marathon.
"El Atawla" boasts cast that includes Ahmed El Sakka, Tarek Lotfy, Zeina, Bassem Samra, Hoda Eletreby, and more.
"El Atawla" marked the first collaboration between El Sakka and Lotfy in 20 years.
They previously collaborated on films "Ean Aleashq Walhuaa" (2006), and "Saeidi Fil Gameaa Al Amerikeya" (1998).
It also marked the first collaboration between El Sakka and Zeina in 13 years.
They previously collaborated on the 2007 smash hit film "El Gezira"(The Island).
The series consists of 30 episodes and hails from scriptwriter Hisham Hilal and director Ahmed Khaled Mousa.
Kassab, born on December 8, 1981, began her music career by forming the band “Ghamid Eneyk” with the Syrian musician Magd Al Kassem.
The band released its first album “Hagga Tiksif” in 2005 and the second album “Ahla al Kalam” in 2007.
In 2006, Kassab made her acting debut alongside Ahmed El Fishawy in a comedy TV series “Tamir wa Shawqiyah.”
Thereafter, she appeared in a number of film roles such as “Al Farah” and “Bobos."
