Egyptian actress Mai Ezz Eldin is in the intensive care unit (ICU) after undergoing surgery.
Ezz Eldin's husband, pharmacist and nutritionist Ahmed Taymour Khalil, broke the news on Friday on Instagram stories and asked her fans to pray for her recovery.
Khalil explained his wife had been experiencing health complications two weeks before Ramadan, which required her to be hospitalized a week ago.
He added that Ezz Eldin underwent hours-long surgery on Friday and was then transferred to the ICU for close medical monitoring.
The nature of the surgery and the medical complication were not disclosed.

Born on January 19, 1980, Ezz Eldin made her acting debut in the 2001 romantic film "Rehlet Hob," starring late legend Gamil Ratib and famed singer Mohamed Fouad.
