Egyptian actress Mai Ezz Eldin was discharged from the hospital on Sunday after recovering from a recent health scare.
Last week, Ezz Eldin was hospitalised after experiencing health complications two weeks before Ramadan, which required her to be hospitalized a week ago.
She underwent hours-long surgery on Friday and was then transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) for close medical monitoring until her health condition improved and she recovered.
While the nature of the illness has not been disclosed, a medical report of Ezz Eldin's health condition revealed a widespread accumulation of pus throughout most of her abdomen and around the intestines, which caused adhesions and pressure on the pelvic area and required urgent surgical intervention to separate the intestinal adhesions and clean the abdomen and pelvis of the infection.
Born on January 19, 1980, Ezz Eldin made her acting debut in the 2001 romantic film "Rehlet Hob," starring late legend Gamil Ratib and famed singer Mohamed Fouad.
She made her drama debut in the 2002 TV series “Ayna Qalbi”, starring veteran actress Yousra, which shot her to stardom.
Ezz Eldin boosted her career with films "Kalam Mama" and the rom-com franchise “Omar & Salma” co-starring Tamer Hosny.
Her film credits also include "Farah", "Khiana Mashroaa", and "Habibi Na'eman".
On the TV side, Ezz Eldin is also best known for her roles in "Ayna Qalby", "Al-Hakika w Al-Sarab", "Mahmoud Al-Masri", "Adam", "El Shak", "Dalaa Banat", "Halet Eshq", "Waad", "Rasa'el", “Kheit Harir”, and “Gezira Guam”.
