Magdi Yacoub Celebrates Oldest Heart Transplant Patient

Social media Influencers circulated photos of Sir Magdi Yacoub congratulating his oldest patient "David Aggatt" on his 90th birthday.

The former British detective turned 90 as the world’s oldest heart transplant patient. He was told that a heart transplant could buy him 10 more years however, it has been 35 years since the surgery.

In 1984, Aggatt underwent surgery by Yacoub, who transplanted a 14 years old heart to his patient after her death.

The investigator had the opportunity to work for another two years and helped solve another 23 murders.

It is worth mentioning that Yacoub has performed more than 2,000 transplants and 40,000 open-heart surgeries.

The Egyptian pioneer congratulated David on his birthday, expressing his happiness with his story, stressing the importance of donating organs to give others a chance to live and benefit their communities.
