Beirut Arab University bestowed an honorary doctorate in Medicine on Egyptian Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub, in appreciation of his major scientific and humanitarian contributions in the medical field.
This came during a celebration held by the university in the presence of Egypt's Ambassador to Lebanon Nazeh el Naggary along with a host of academic and scientific figures from Egypt and Lebanon.
Choosing Yacoub was based on BAU’s Strategy which calls for community service, updating the graduates with the latest developments in the field of research and introducing them to the experiences and achievements of leading figures who have enriched the scientific fields and are distinguished not only in their countries, but worldwide.
