A sequel to the 2002 star-studded action/thriller film "Mafia" is in the works, with Ahmed El Sakka expected to return to star.
Scriptwriter Medhat El Adl pointed out that the follow up film has entered pre-production.

Directed by Sherif Arafa, "Mafia" revolves around the problem of an important principle that has been missing from the minds and hearts of many Egyptian youth nowadays: loyalty to the motherland.
The film tackles this problem through the personality of Hussain Amin who has left the country and lost all his loyalty to it.
