MACIC Celebrates ‘World Hindi Day 2022’

 Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC), Embassy of India in Cairo, will hold online competitions on 16th February 2022 from 10 AM to 1 PM for celebrating ‘World Hindi Day 2022’. 

This comes as a part of World Hindi Day celebrations, which are held under the auspices of the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, to promote the Hindi language worldwide.

According to a statement released on Friday by Indian Embassy in Cairo, the winners will receive many prizes and certificates on 23rd February 2021.

"In view of the COVID pandemic situation in Egypt, all competitions shall be held online," the statement noted.

The competitions shall be held in the following categories: Hindi Hand Writing (Senior and Junior levels), Hindi Extempore Speaking (Senior and Junior levels), Hindi Picture Writing (Senior and Junior levels), Hindi Essay Writing (Senior and Junior levels), and Hindi Poetry Writing (Senior and Junior levels).

MACIC will also hold the following online competitions in Urdu, alongside the World Hindi Day 2022 competitions 10 AM to 1 PM on 16th February 2022: Urdu Hand Writing (Senior and Junior levels), Urdu Picture Writing (Senior and Junior levels), and Urdu Poetry Writing (Senior and Junior levels).

It's worth mentioning that Hindi is the third most spoken language of the world, the mother tongue of around 340 million people, and the official language of India. Outside India, Hindi and its derivatives are spoken in over 20 countries.
