On December 6, the United States Embassy in Egypt launched “Pop-Up USA” in Luxor.
“Pop-Up USA” is a new initiative to bring American cultural, educational, and sports-focused activities to cities across Egypt.
Set against the backdrop of Luxor Temple, the program included a wide range of activities celebrating US culture, showcasing the US-Egypt relationship, and providing information to the people of Upper Egypt about US Embassy-sponsored educational and cultural opportunities.
“Pop-Up USA” is part of the U.S. Embassy’s America250 celebration, which marks the 250th anniversary of American Independence and highlights the enduring friendship between the United States and Egypt for more than one hundred years.
“Launching ‘Pop-Up USA’ in Luxor reflects our deep appreciation for Egypt’s rich cultural heritage and our commitment to connecting directly with communities across the country,” US Ambassador to Egypt Herro Mustafa Garg noted.

“This inaugural ‘Pop-Up USA’ event in Luxor is only the beginning of our America250 campaign. We plan to bring 'Pop-Up America' directly to Egyptians all across this beautiful country. I look forward to visiting every province in Egypt."
Visitors to Pop-Up USA Luxor were introduced to a range of opportunities offered by U.S. Embassy Cairo, including professional and academic exchanges, English-language learning, and academic advising.
Visitors also took part in a soccer clinic, highlighting the 2026 World Cup which is being hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The day concluded with a free public concert at Luxor Temple featuring American vocalist Samantha Lorraine (“Samantha Takes”) and Egyptian singer Ahmed El-Haggar with the Cairo Big Band Society.
