Lucy Boynton, Babou Ceesay, and Peter Mullan have joined the second season of HBO's "Game of Thrones" prequel series “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”.

The news comes just over a week since the Season 1 finale. “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” was renewed for Season 2 back in November 2025 ahead of the series premiere.

The second season will follow the story of the second Dunk & Egg book, “The Sworn Sword.” Boynton will play Lady Rohanne, Ceesay will be Ser Bennis, and Mullan is Ser Eustace Osgrey.

Boynton is known for roles in "A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story" and "Bohemian Rhapsody," while Ceesay has starred in "Alien: Earth" and "Damilola, Our Loved Boy". Mullan is known for his roles in "Ozark" and "I Swear."

The well-received first season ended on HBO on February 22, starring Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg, who is revealed to be Prince Aegon Targaryen.

The show is set roughly 100 years before the events of the mothership show. It is based on George RR Martin’s “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novellas.

It received strong critical acclaim upon its debut, with the first season holding a 94% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Claffey and Ansell earned praise for their performances, while “Game of Thrones” fans also took to the show’s more intimate storylines, shorter episode runtimes, and its shortersix-episode season.

Martin co-created the series with Ira Parker, with both serving as executive producers.

Parker is also the showrunner. Additional executive producers include Sarah Bradshaw, Owen Harris, Ryan Condal, and Vince Gerardis.
